The History of 541 Salon

The team of owner, Sue Kelpis and daughter, Melissa Houser developed the concept of women shopping while processing their hair. This idea would become reality in the summer of 1994.

After the sale of Bravo, Sue’s previous beauty salon, the pair and a team of many renovated a historic home built in the early 1830’s located in the heart of old town Carmel. Once a home to many loving families, the 1700 square foot salon is loaded with charm and has the embracing feeling that Sue was searching for in a location. After renovations were complete, the salon opened in November of 1994 and has evolved into what it is today — a salon filled with unique women that have their own special gifts and talents to offer.
